Generate a deck
Fennie drafts cards one concept at a time: a term, a mechanism, a formula, a distinction. You can edit, delete, or add cards before you study — you should, because pruning a deck is itself a review pass.
Review on the SM-2 schedule
Each card carries its own ease factor and interval. Cards you nail show up less often; cards you miss come back sooner. You don't manage the schedule — you just answer honestly.
Let your Daily Plan pick them up
Due cards flow into your Daily Plan alongside quizzes and reading, so review actually happens instead of piling up into a 400-card backlog.

What it won't do
- Flashcards drill recall of discrete facts. They won't teach you to solve multi-step problems — use practice quizzes or worked problems for that.
- Generated cards are drafts. A card the AI wrote that you never edited teaches less than one you shaped yourself — the how-to guide below explains why.
- If you want a massive pre-made deck for a standardized syllabus (e.g. Step 1), a curated community deck may cover more ground. Fennie's strength is cards from your material.
- Generating from an uploaded PDF requires document upload, which is a premium feature. Generating from notes and chats works on the free plan.

How is this different from Quizlet?
Quizlet's core is a huge library of shared decks. Fennie's core is generating cards from your own notes and scheduling them with spaced repetition inside a daily study plan. If you want a pre-made deck on a common topic, Quizlet is genuinely good at that — we compare them honestly on our Quizlet comparison page.
How is this different from Anki?
Same scheduling family (SM-2), very different workflow. Anki gives you total control and a plugin ecosystem, but you make every card by hand and manage the system yourself. Fennie drafts the cards from your material and folds reviews into a daily plan. Power users who love tuning Anki should keep using Anki.
Are AI-generated cards actually good?
They're solid drafts: one concept per card, front-back structure, pulled from your source. They are not automatically perfect — occasionally a card is too broad or phrases something oddly. Skim the deck and edit before your first review. That edit pass takes two minutes and doubles as your first study session.
What does the free plan actually get me?
Three AI generations per day (a generation produces a whole deck, not one card), plus unlimited card editing, Anki deck import, full spaced-repetition scheduling, and review tracking. Premium removes the daily generation cap. Chat is unlimited on both plans.
Can I make flashcards from a PDF?
Yes — upload the PDF, then generate a deck from it. Document upload is a premium feature, so on the free plan you'd paste the relevant text into a note or chat first and generate from that.
