These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Fennie. You represent that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

Fennie is an AI-powered academic tutoring platform that provides:

• Interactive AI tutoring that guides learning through step-by-step problem-solving
• Rich markdown note-taking capabilities with math support (LaTeX)
• Note sharing features via shareable links
• Academic integrity-focused assistance
• Study material generation (quizzes, flashcards, study guides)
• Document upload and analysis

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time with or without notice.

3. Academic Integrity Policy

Fennie is committed to maintaining academic integrity. Our service is designed to enhance learning, not replace it.

Important: It is your responsibility to ensure your use of Fennie complies with your institution's academic integrity policies.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the service in accordance with academic integrity policies of your institution
• Not attempt to use the service to complete assignments directly
• Respect intellectual property rights and not infringe on copyrights
• Not share account credentials with others or create multiple accounts
• Report any misuse of the platform or violations of these terms
• Provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account
• Maintain the security of your account and notify us of any unauthorized access

5. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you create using our service. By using Fennie, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Use anonymized and aggregated data to improve our AI models and service
• Display your shared notes to users you've granted access to
• Backup and maintain your content for service continuity
• Analyze usage patterns for service improvement (in anonymized form)

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload or create, and that such content does not violate any third-party rights.

We retain all rights to our service, including but not limited to our AI models, software, design, and branding.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

We will never sell your personal data to third parties. Your data is used solely to provide and improve our services.

Upon termination or ban:

• No refunds will be provided for terminated accounts (except as required by law)

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FENNIE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:

• Academic consequences or disciplinary actions
• Loss of data or content
• Service interruptions or technical issues
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Damages resulting from third-party actions or content

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fennie, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your content or actions on the platform

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action lawsuit.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Fennie operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the service. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
